Get to know Jafar Dehqan: Putifar in ‘Prophet Joseph’

Born in 1960, Dehqan began his acting career as a stage actor in theater in 1975.

Later, in 1981, he started to work in the Art Center of the Islamic Development Organization while he also made his film debut in 'Justification', directed by Manouchehr Haqqaniparast.

Dehqan's performance in 'The Majnoon Epic' earned him a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Fajr International Film Festival.

He has experienced working in several cinematic projects, including 'Scent of Joseph', 'Saint Mary', 'Salma and the Apple' and 'The Days of Love and Betrayal'.

iFilm fans must remember his unforgettable performances in some popular TV series such as 'The Men of Angelos', ‘The Envoy’, ‘Ilda’ and 'A House without a Bird'.

Dehqan marked his presence in Iranian period drama ‘The Enigma of the Shah’, where he portrayed the role of the first Pahlavi Regime’s king.

He has also worked as an assistant scenic designer. 

Jafar Dehqan’s personal life:

Jafar is married and is the father of two, a daughter named Sahar and a son named Soroush.

Back in his youth, the famed actor used to pursue martial arts professionally.
